About the Role
We are seeking anOperator 2, Bakery - Packing (Machine Operator, Packing) to join our team at our Hazleton, PA bakery. As an Operator 2, you will be accountable for operating and maintaining packaging equipment to ensure a continuous, accurate, and safe flow of finished goods through the packaging and palletizing process while meeting quality and production standards.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 2nd Shift
- Hours: 2 PM- 10:30 PM
- Weekend availability: Required as needed
Core Accountabilities (What You'll be Doing)
- Operate and adjust packaging machinery to meet product specifications and production requirements
- Monitor product quality, labeling accuracy, and metal detection systems to ensure food safety and compliance
- Maintain a continuous flow of materials and finished goods to support efficient production and palletizing
- Communicate with cross-functional teams (QA, Maintenance, Shipping) to resolve issues and minimize downtime
- Complete required documentation and production records accurately and legibly each shift
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with GMP and safety standards
- Support team operations through collaboration, training, and flexibility in assigned tasks
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Basic math and timekeeping skills
- Ability to make logical decisions in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical movements throughout the shift
- Ability to lift, push, or move up to 50 lbs and frequently carry over 20 lbs
- Ability to work in varying conditions (hot, cold, wet, noisy, or confined environments)
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing or bakery environment
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards
- Experience operating packaging or automated production equipment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in a production setting
- Experience training or supporting new team members
