ROLE OVERVIEW:

The ITS Support Specialist is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting technology systems integrated into equipment and commercial motor vehicles (CMVs). This role ensures the reliability and performance of fleet technology systems by diagnosing and repairing hardware and software components. The specialist supports Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) across all product lines, provides training on new technologies, and serves as a technical resource for both field and office teams.

The schedule may vary, Monday - Saturday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM. The schedule may vary due to weather and customer demand.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)



  1. Install, configure, maintain, and support technology systems embedded in equipment and CMV vehicles.
  2. Troubleshoot and repair ITS-related hardware and software, including sensors, cameras, onboard electronics, network components, and fleet applications.
  3. Analyze system issues, perform diagnostics, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  4. Provide technical support for ITS systems utilized across all product lines.
  5. Support end users in both field and office environments, responding to service requests and system issues.
  6. Delivers training and documentation for newly introduced systems, upgrades, or enhancements.
  7. Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure system reliability and performance.
  8. Perform routine system checks, updates, calibrations, and preventative maintenance.
  9. Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, configurations, and system changes.
  10. Ensure systems comply with company standards, safety requirements, and operational guidelines.
  11. Other duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITITES (types and extent of knowledge, skills or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily)



  1. Working knowledge of sensors, cameras, networking, diagnostics, and software applications
  2. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  3. Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
  4. Experience supporting users in both field and office environments.
  5. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field locations as needed.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)



  1. Associate degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Electronics, Engineering Technology, or a related field
  2. Experience installing, maintaining, or supporting vehicle-based or industrial technology systems


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (preferred requirements i.e. certifications, software use, etc.)



  1. Experience with fleet telematics, ITS, or transportation technology systems
  2. Familiarity with CMV or heavy equipment technology platforms
  3. Technical certifications (IT, networking, electronics, or OEM-specific systems)
  4. Experience delivering technical training or user support documentation


COMPENSATION:

$26.00 - $37.00 per hour depending on experience.
