Job Summary

The Inbound Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and optimizing all inbound logistics activities to ensure the efficient flow of materials from suppliers to distribution and warehouse operations. This role supports the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), manages inbound shipments from domestic and international vendors, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve supply chain performance. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inbound logistics operations.
  • Ensure logistics processes align with organizational supply chain strategies and vendor transitions.
  • Coordinate and monitor inbound shipments from domestic and international suppliers.
  • Track shipment status and proactively address delivery delays or transportation issues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors regarding inbound shipment scheduling and logistics coordination.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and transportation partners to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, increase efficiency, and reduce operational costs.
  • Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure accurate receiving, inspection, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and support inventory management initiatives.
  • Partner with procurement, warehouse, quality, and other internal teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable transportation, import/export, and logistics regulations.
  • Maintain accurate shipment documentation, records, and reporting metrics.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics performance and operational effectiveness.


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in logistics coordination, supply chain operations, or inbound logistics management.
  • Strong understanding of logistics processes, inventory management, and supply chain best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
  • Proficiency with logistics, transportation, inventory management, and enterprise software systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze operational data and identify process improvement opportunities.


Work Experience



  • Previous experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain operations, or inbound logistics required.
  • Experience coordinating domestic and international shipments preferred.
  • Experience working with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers preferred.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience managing relationships with offshore or international vendors.
  • Knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and import/export processes.
  • Familiarity with inventory control systems and warehouse operations.
  • Experience supporting process improvement and supply chain optimization initiatives.
