Overview

Produces a high level of accurate and insightful analysis and financial reporting; melding hindsight, insight and foresight in connection with Treasury-related operations for Bank and Parent. This includes interest rate and market risk management, the investment portfolio, short-term and long-term liquidity management, net interest margin review and forecasting, funds transfer pricing, off-balance sheet (swap and hedging) activity, corporate insurance and captive insurance, the deposit and consumer loan rate setting process for the Company. Assist Senior Management in completing special projects, in managing correspondent relationships, in performing ongoing analysis, in providing proactive consulting to Business Partners and in leading or serving on Committees that help the Company meet and exceed its Strategic Plan objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in development of discussion packets and may present to ALCO Committee or its Working Groups group on the interest rate and market risk positions of Company in an insightful, concise and clear manner. Ensures adherence to all regulatory, accounting and internal policies.
  • Assists in management of investment portfolio, seeking over the long term to achieve peer returns with below peer risk profile in light of existing balance sheet constraints and market dynamics. Develop analysis and may complete accounting entries and abide by all policy and regulatory requirements for record retention and delineation of duties.
  • Coordinate analysis, rate setting and packet preparation for the Mortgage and Pricing Working Group's oversight of all deposit and for consumer loan rates.
  • Oversee process for net interest margin management, funds transfer pricing assessments, short-term liquidity management (including daily settlement accounting balancing) and related contingency funding objectives and correspondent counterparty risk monitoring.
  • Oversees day-to-day interactions with the FHLB-Chicago, ensures all collateral-related processes are adhered to and coordinates the collateral audits conducted by the FHLB.
  • Helps direct Company's off-balance sheet activity, inclusive of swaps, caps and other derivative products for the Company and for clients, maintaining compliance with regulatory, accounting and company policies, regulations and procedures.
  • Provides proactive consulting to Business Partners and collaborates with peers to meet and exceed Finance's objectives; ensure adequate cross-training exists within areas of responsibility and oversee adherence to policies, procedures, regulatory and accounting guidelines as well as the Company's risk management practices within team.
  • Assist in the management of corporate insurance and the captive insurance subsidiary for the Company. Collaborating with Johnson Insurance Services and Human Resources, ensure coverage levels are adequate across all risk exposures, claims are efficiently and accurately processed, all at costs that are competitive relative to peers. Assist Business Leads in managing their insurance interactions with carriers, contractors and with complex client situations.
  • Assists Senior Management with analysis and projects related to budgeting and forecasting, investments, deposit and loan rate setting, new product/pricing discussions, and liquidity management actions.
  • Addresses risk-related requirements of Regulators, Auditors and of the Enterprise, Vendor, Model Risk and Risk Tolerance management areas. Coordinates Business Continuity Management (BCM) testing and stays current on systems and processes in case of a disaster.
  • Maintains appropriate confidentiality of sensitive JFG information.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated success utilizing good judgment, creativity, perspective, strategic agility, keen insight and decision-making ability in their career.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills. Progression in role requires growing to detailed understanding of the financial and regulatory environment as it relates to Treasury and Financial topics.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills, an ability to explain difficult concepts clearly and concisely, the ability to work with all levels of the organization and with outside Business Partners. The level of engagement will grow with progression in role.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines on a consistant basis.
  • Ambition to proactively assume more responsibilities and grow within the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software suite
  • Preference given to CPA's or CFA's candidates
  • Preference given to candidates with ALCO experience
