UVA Health University Medical Center is seeking Surgical Support Technicians (SST) to support the Surgical Care Riverside, one of the busiest and most complex perioperative environments in Virginia. This is a hands-on, mission critical role for individuals who thrive in fast paced clinical settings and want to be directly involved in surgical care, even without prior OR experience. As an SST, your work ensures operating rooms are safe, ready, and fully supported so surgical teams can focus on what matters most: the patient. The Role At UVA Health, Surgical Support Technicians are respected members of the perioperative team, working alongside surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and technologists to keep surgery running safely, efficiently, and on time. Experience as CNA, EMT, PCT or CMA highly preferred. Licensure: BLS Certification required. Additional certifications/licensure may be required for the position. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 25-50lbs. Working in environment with fumes, chemicals, vibrations, heat, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The starting base rate for this role is $19.75 hourly.
