Description

The Accounting Intern role is intended for a candidate pursuing an accounting degree. The candidate will be exposed to the following areas of accounting/finance:



  • Exposure to ERP (Epicor), which acts as the system of record for financial reporting.
  • Review data and consult with external and internal personnel to obtain financial information.
  • Month-end closing
  • Journal entries & reconciliations
  • Financial reporting
  • Accounts payable


May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department or to develop individuals' skills.

Requirements:



  • Pursuing degree in Finance or related field, or a combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
  • Willing to receive guidance and follow instructions related to financial matters and controls.
  • Must have business acumen
  • Must have communication skills in order to interface effectively with other groups, influence decisions and achieve agreement on procedural matters
  • Observe work rules
  • Reliable work ethic and positive attitude


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
