Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
Founded in 1950, our Department of Maternal and Child Health is one of the world's leading academic departments for research, teaching and practice. We are dedicated to improving the health of women, children and families - domestically and globally. Our teaching program provides students with broad exposure to maternal and child health population needs and priorities, as well as with the skills to become leaders of tomorrow. Currently the department has 31 faculty members, 20 of whom have primary appointments in Maternal and Child Health ( MCH). Complementing these faculty are four emeritus members, and more than 65 adjunct faculty, many of whom hold leadership positions in MCH research and practice settings. Given the interdisciplinary nature of our department, faculty and staff research interests and activities span the full array of issues and areas of focus for the maternal and child health population. Our initiatives are designed to create new knowledge and directly improve the health of this population.
Position Summary
The Bilingual Ready, Set, Baby Facilitator will serve as primary educator and facilitator for both Spanish and English live prenatal classes of Ready, Set, Baby. Precept and train lactation consultant training program students on the use of Ready, Set Baby live. Assist CGBI team with translations/back translations of RSB curriculum, flip chart and patient education booklet each time there is updated information. Must have the ability to complete objective evaluations of student performance via Qualtrics surveys.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Management Preferences
Ability to speak Spanish fluently, translate and back translate documents in English and Spanish.
Active credential as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant ( IBCLC).
Experience as a prenatal educator.
Formal certification in translation services.
