Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our growing team as an Associate Benefits Operations Analyst!

About the role

Responsible for supporting the new business and/or various customer service and contract administration functions to in-force Workforce Benefits and Self Insured Medical Stop Loss business and assigned the more complex transactions and/or functions. Has advanced knowledge of all functions and assists in the development and training of other team members. Takes a proactive role in becoming a subject matter expert and leader for various projects. Assists and facilitates unit projects, process innovation, documentation, and acceptance testing as needed. Attends meetings as necessary to ensure the business unit's requirements are met. This position also provides service and support to Premium, Commission, Underwriting, Claims and Field sales/service teams.

What you will do



  • Responsible for systems set up.
  • Creation of contract/certificates/administration agreements, amendments of in force contract, and any other contract documents for Workforce Benefits and Medical Stop Loss Products.
  • Analyze documents submitted and policy admin system, determine if additional information is needed and confirm conforms to state, company and contractual guides.
  • Administration of in force contracts for Workforce Benefits and Medical Stop Loss products to include policyholder list bill updates, renewals, agent of record, etc.
  • Obtain and maintain advanced knowledge of products, processes, industry and company rules regarding pre-sale, policy set up and issue, renewals, revision, amendments, etc.
  • Responsible for daily management of work assignments insuring appropriate communications, and that deadlines and Service Level Agreements are met.
  • Understanding and application of guides for Broker/Agent and TPA appointments for contract issue and Broker of Record changes.
  • Provide Service and support to Underwriting, Product partners, And Field Sales/Service Staff.
  • Assigned more complex transactions/functions.
  • Training and development of other team members Subject matter expert for unit.
  • Application/Workflow Tool testing, administration and innovation Acceptance testing.
  • Lead and facilitate unit projects Business Continuity Planning maintenance and updating of SOX Partner with internal and external auditors.
  • Special assignments as indicated.

Compensation

Hourly Range:$24.62 - $41.04 plus eligibility for annual bonus programs

  • You have experience supporting insurance operations, policy administration, benefits administration, or contract processing in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • You are highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and service level expectations while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • You enjoy problem solving and analyzing complex information to ensure contracts, policy updates, and documentation align with company, state, and regulatory guidelines.
  • You are a collaborative partner who communicates effectively across teams including underwriting, claims, sales, service, and operations stakeholders.
  • You take initiative to improve processes, support projects, and share knowledge with others, with an interest in becoming a subject matter expert and team resource.
  • High school diploma required.
