WORK ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

Interns will go to Court and argue bail at initial appearances, conduct plea and sentencing hearings wherein they will argue to what the State believes the Court should sentence a defendant, assist in drafting and arguing motions and response briefs, conduct motion hearings on behalf of the State and possibly conduct jury trials.

Internship is projected to last August 2026 - May 2027.

CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION

Minimum Training & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in Law School and entering into the 3L year
  • Have obtained or able to obtain a Student Practice Certificate through the enrolled Law School and the Wisconsin Supreme Court
  • Preference will be given to those students who have completed an Evidence Course and a Trial Advocacy Course by the start of the internship period.
