*Job Title: Branch Teller - Richmond, VA*
*Job Description*The Branch Teller provides members and prospective members with a full range of financial products and services, including depository accounts such as checking, savings, certificate and IRA accounts, revocable trust and estate accounts, lending products, and credit and debit cards. This role combines high-quality customer service, accurate cash handling, and administrative support to ensure a positive and efficient experience for every member. *Responsibilities* * Assist members and prospective members with opening, maintaining, and servicing depository accounts, including checking, savings, certificate, IRA, revocable trust, and estate accounts. * Support members with lending products by explaining options, answering questions, and directing them to appropriate resources when needed. * Promote and service credit and debit card products, including basic troubleshooting and account-related inquiries. * Handle cash accurately by receiving, counting, and disbursing funds while maintaining proper controls and following established procedures. * Deliver friendly, professional, and proactive customer-facing service to all members and visitors. * Engage in retail sales conversations to identify member needs and recommend suitable financial products and services. * Perform account management and administrative tasks, including data entry, documentation, and record maintenance in banking systems. * Use Microsoft Office and other banking systems to complete daily tasks, generate forms, and update member information. * Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in transactions and records. * Think creatively to provide alternative solutions and options for members, especially when facing service limitations or product constraints. * Demonstrate resilience and confidence when handling objections, questions, and occasional rejection in sales and service situations. * Collaborate with team members to support branch goals and ensure smooth daily operations. * Follow all banking policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines related to member accounts, cash handling, and security. *Essential Skills* * Proven customer service experience in a customer-facing or member service role. * Strong cash handling skills with a focus on accuracy and control. * Ability to engage confidently with members and not be afraid to talk to people. * Customer service orientation with a professional and helpful attitude. * Basic knowledge of banking or prior financial services experience. * Proficiency with data entry and basic administrative tasks. * Ability to use Microsoft Office applications for daily work. * Comfort with sales or retail sales environments and customer service facing interactions. * Ability to think outside the box and offer alternative solutions to member needs. * Confidence and resilience when facing objections or rejections. * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures. *Additional Skills & Qualifications* * Experience in a banking, finance, or credit union environment. * Background in administrative support within a customer service or financial setting. * Experience using banking systems or account management tools. * Retail sales experience with a focus on cross-selling or upselling products. * Strong communication skills, both in person and over the phone. * Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented branch environment. *Why Work Here?*You join a stable, well-established financial institution with a strong reputation and a track record of job security, including no history of company-wide layoffs. You work with standard banking and office technologies, including banking software systems, data entry tools, and Microsoft Office. The schedule runs Monday through Saturday, with one day off during the week when you are scheduled on Saturday. The branch environment is professional, member-focused, and fast-paced, with consistent interaction with the public and collaboration with a close-knit team. Attire is professional to align with a traditional financial services branch setting. *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $21.42 - $21.42/hr.
