Powertrain Engineering is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to fulfill the role as Calibration System integration Engineer.
The Calibration System integration Engineer is responsible for the system calibration tradeoffs between each powertrain subsystem to meet functional objectives of performance, emissions, fuel economy, OBD regulatory compliance, System Safety and driveability. Lead a cross functional team which is specifically dedicated to creating the most optimized calibration for the defined propulsion system consisting of engine, transmission, driveline, and electrification.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Retain lead calibrator responsibility for one of the existing Calibration areas (Transmission, Torque control, Engine D&E, ePT E&D, OBD or Torque Security.)
- Own overall responsibility for making sure vehicle calibrations from all areas are meeting required performance, emissions, fuel economy, OBD regulatory compliance, Torque Security and driveability (including AVL Drive performance).
- Lead test trips with all separate calibrations teams attending the same trips.
- Promote sharing of vehicles and resources across all calibration teams
- Promote combined calibration development with different teams as appropriate.
- Establishing common vehicle Inca experiments collecting relevant data for each calibration team.
- Chair weekly meeting for calibration build for the propulsion system.
- Management of resources to accomplish the calibration tasks (Simulation, Bench, Engine Dyno, Powertrain Dyno, Vehicle)
- Lead responsible to communicate key technical decisions to senior management.
- Represent the vehicle program for PT Applications at Management Ride and Drives.
- Engage senior management as necessary to ensure project risks and issues are conveyed.
- Work directly with and guide Project coordination team to:
