Revenue Cycle Medical Billing Shared Services - EDI Specialist

Location: Remote or On-Site (United States)

Hourly Compensation: $19

(this position is bonus eligible)

Work Schedule: Full-Time

The EDI Specialist works within the Shared Services team to complete enrollments for electronic payments and remits. Additionally, they function as the administrators over the clearinghouses and payor web portals utilized by Revenue Cycle.

Essential Functions/Duties

  • Enroll to receive payments via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
  • Enroll to receive EOBs in Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) format.
  • Research and test new electronic claim filing methods and technologies.
  • Troubleshoot electronic claim filing, EFT, and ERA issues.
  • Set up and maintain administrator access and login credentials for various payor portals.
  • Set up, track, and monitor individual user access to various payor portals.

Qualifications:

Required Experience

  • Must be fluent in English
  • Proficient in typing and 10-key
  • Proficient in quickly navigating the internet and completing online research
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software with an emphasis in Excel
  • Proficient in utilizing and navigating File Explorer pathways
  • Knowledge and experience of computers and related technology, at an intermediate level

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) enrollment processes
  • Experience setting up and maintaining payor web portal access
  • Experience with TriZetto and WayStar clearinghouses
  • Experience with filing claims electronically and trouble-shooting filing rejections
  • Experience with Respond Billing / Sweet

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Or, significant relevant work experience

  • Requires strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
  • Organized to include good time management skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Responsiveness and a strong commitment to meeting internal and external deadlines with limited supervision
