THE POSITION

The Administrative Assistant 1 position with the Northumberland County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) offers a chance to support important services that help older adults stay informed and independent. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports key administrative and program functions that keep services for older adults running smoothly. It involves coordinating activities, assisting the public, and helping the agency meet important program requirements. As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Program Coordination: Coordinate the PA MEDI program and support related activities
  • Volunteer Support: Recruit and train volunteers who provide health insurance counseling
  • Public Education: Provide information to Medicare enrollees and assist with presentations to the community
  • Client Assistance: Guide older adults through applications, appeals, claims, and insurance comparisons
  • Report Preparation: Prepare required reports, review correspondence, and complete administrative research
  • Agency Support: Assist agency departments, participate in trainings, and maintain professional communication

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
  • any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
