THE POSITION

Crawford County Human Services is looking for a Caseworker 3 to join the team. In this role, you will help make a real difference in the lives of consumers by serving as the Child and Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP) Coordinator and Mental Health Complex Case Manager. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports individuals with complex mental health needs by coordinating services, connecting them to resources, and promoting stability and recovery. The role requires strong organization, clear communication, and teamwork across many community systems. As a County Caseworker 3, you will perform the following duties:

  • Mandated Reporting: Serve as a mandated reporter and follow all required procedures
  • Care Coordination: Arrange services, lead meetings, and support complex cases across mental health and social service systems
  • Community Collaboration: Work with providers, schools, courts, and agencies to share information and support families
  • Referral Management: Coordinate referrals to treatment programs and help consumers transition between levels of care
  • Record Keeping: Prepare letters, reports, and documents while maintaining accurate program records
  • Advocacy Support: Assist consumers by advocating for needs, supporting grievances, and helping guide service planning

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 35 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Occasional overtime and travel may be required.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a County Caseworker 2; or
  • A bachelor's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and three years of professional social casework experience in a public or private social services agency; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
