  • Location: Remote - must be within 100 miles of Cupertino, CA
  • Schedule: M - F, standard business hours
  • Pay Comments: W2, weekly pay, benefits, 401k w/ match

Description

Our client is looking for an outstanding designer who is passionate about highly technical product design. The designer will be responsible for researching and designing new user experiences based on product requirements, specifically focusing on the regulatory, legal compliance, and internationalization side of our client's developer platform ecosystem. Deliverables include high-fidelity comps, prototypes, and detailed workflow documentation required for a smooth hand-off between design and engineering. The role will work alongside product, engineers, and cross-functional teams to craft best-in-class experiences for developers.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven track record of solving complex, data-heavy problems across web platforms.
  • An eye for pixel-perfect detail
  • Possesses a strong emphasis on information architecture and interaction design (leaning toward IA over pure visual design).
  • Must have an affinity for consistency, color use, typography, and a keen eye for subtle details.
  • Prior experience working within and contributing to a structured design system is required.
  • Thrives through iteration and feedback, and is a natural collaborator with excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable owning a project end-to-end.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, able to work independently or as part of a small team
  • Perform complex tasks under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Workflow Documentation: Utilize Sketch and our client's internal design system (Tidbit) to design and document technical workflows and create different views within the developer platform.
  • Artifact Creation: Produce exceptionally high-quality presentation decks and workflow documentation using Keynote to communicate design logic to engineering partners.
  • Domain Focus: Document complex relationships and data workflows ensuring developers can provide government-required identification and documentation to distribute their apps globally (e.g., navigating specific international regulatory bodies).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner heavily from the very beginning of a problem definition through to engineering delivery with cross-functional business partners, including Legal, Localization, Pricing, and Copywriting teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interaction, Graphic Design, Media Arts, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of product design experience working within a deeply technical environment with data-driven tools, developer/engineer-focused interfaces, or enterprise-level software (e.g., backgrounds from companies like Salesforce, Intuit, or Google are highly preferred).
  • Note: This role requires professional B2B/enterprise tool design experience; consumer-facing iOS app design backgrounds will not be a fit for this technical domain. Front-end engineers looking to pivot into design will also not be considered.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing creative problem-solving, deep information architecture capabilities, and strong storytelling-specifically the ability to boil down a highly complex technical subject into a clear, digestible narrative without the reviewer needing to guess the requirements.
  • Mastery of Sketch and the ability to quickly utilize or learn Keynote for advanced documentation.
  • Ability to communicate design concepts through whiteboarding sessions, sketches, and wireframes.
  • Highly motivated by group critique, actively seeks out feedback, and is energized by it.
  • Exceptional comfort with ambiguity, fluid requirements, and evolving international regulations.
  • Self-starting, self-motivated, self-directed, and self-sufficient
