The mission of the USC Rossier School of Education is to prepare leaders to achieve educational equity through practice, research and policy. The adjunct faculty member for EDUC 641X is responsible for delivering instruction and providing subject matter expertise to support students' understanding of collaborative professionalism, with an emphasis on collective expertise and shared responsibility among educators. The faculty member will draw on professional experience to guide students in analyzing and applying strategies for fostering collaborative cultures in schools and using collaboration to promote equitable and inclusive outcomes. This course addresses key elements of human capital development, including the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention of teachers and staff. The adjunct faculty member will facilitate learning experiences that examine effective practices for attracting and retaining high-quality educators, with attention to alignment with the school's mission, vision, and commitment to serving diverse populations. Instruction will support students in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to build and sustain strong, collaborative teams that contribute to improved outcomes for students. Instruction will be provided in an online synchronous setting, for a period of fifteen (15) weeks, one night per week for two (2) hours (synchronous), using the USC Rossier Office for Professional Development online platform. In addition to teaching, the position is responsible for: assigning course assignments, maintaining regular communication with students, completing numerical grade points for each assignment and assigning a final grade for the course. In addition, the adjunct faculty will also maintain communication and progress monitoring for each student on an ongoing basis throughout the cohort term, providing guidance and feedback on their selected problems of practice within their professional field. The adjunct faculty will prepare their own content and course materials, including the development of presentations, handouts, and toolkits. They will ensure that assigned readings comply with copyright regulations. The position reports to the Program Administrator and faculty advisor for School Leadership Academy. This calendar for this class will be shared when developed for each term. Required Qualifications: This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience at a public-school site as a district leader, acting principal and/or superintendent.

This position also requires a Doctor of Education (Ed.D) or PhD.

Candidates must have experience with teaching and learning, including staff supervision and evaluation, with extensive knowledge and experience in evaluating teaching data driven decision making, leadership, communication, and research-based pedagogy. Applicants must also hold a California Clear Administrative Credential. Applicants must also be skilled in using a Learning Management System and teaching online. Applicants will need access to their own computer with Internet, microphone, and camera for all online sessions. Experience in teaching online using Adobe Connect is a plus.

The base salary range for this position is $7,457- $9,587 per course.
