Occupational Summary Be You. INSTRUCT FITNESS COURSES SUCH AS AEROBICS, YOGA, SPINNING, AND KICK- BOXING OFFERED TO GENERAL STUDENT POPULATION IN STUDENT ATHLETIC CENTERS DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR. THESE ARE SEPARATE FROM THE CLASSES OFFERED THROUGH THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FOR COURSE CREDIT AND ARE SCHEDULED BASED ON INTEREST, WITH EACH CLASS LASTING 30 MINUTES TO 1 HOUR. Be Bold. Work Performed Teach the correct fitness methods depending on the class offered. Plan classes around the skill levels of the participants. Make sure that the classroom and equipment are in working order. Notify the Center Director if maintenance is needed or if equipment needs to be ordered. Lead fitness classes in exercises and/or instruct personal training clients. Monitor the well-being of all participants. Encourage participants to continue with exercises and make healthy choices. Enforce all fitness facility policies, rules and regulations. Participate in regular in-service training sessions. Exercise regularly to maintain fitness level. Complete records and reports as needed. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities N/A Level Characteristics N/A Choose Duke. Minimum Qualifications Education Certifications: American Red Cross CPR/AED; Group exercise certification from a credible organization or Personal training certificationfrom a credible organization or Physical Education degree Experience N/A Degrees, Licensures, Certifications Certifications: American Red Cross CPR/AED Group exercise certification from a credible organization Personal training certification from a credible organization Physical Education degree Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $22.80 to USD $36.01.
