Imaging Operations Assistant Job Responsibilities

  • The Imaging Operations Assistant assists with effective patient care and ancillary support processes within the Imaging department. Patient care duties include the provision of the necessary care, safety, and monitoring of patients during transport and waiting periods in the department, provision of access to images, reports, and inquiries/updates to family and/or approved visitors on patient status.
  • Monitors patients in the Imaging department to provide a safe and comfortable environment, as evidenced by a lack of negative outcomes. Monitors patients' conditions consistently while reporting problems immediately to appropriate personnel.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess patients' conditions and selects the most appropriate mode of transportation, as evidenced by compliance with physician orders and nursing/Radiology practice standards.
  • Communicates effectively with nursing/Radiology personnel in the event of transport problems, as evidenced by timely and appropriate patient transfer. Uses safe and appropriate transport methods and body lifting techniques.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent..
  • Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required upon start
