Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co., Inc., your local Caterpillar dealership, is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to join our growing team of established and successful parts professionals.

Position Summary:

The General Manager - Parts is responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and financial performance of Cleveland Brothers' parts business across approximately 32 branches, 200+ team members, and more than $100M in parts inventory. This position oversees Regional/Parts Operations Managers and ensures standardized, efficient operations across all branches while building a culture of accountability, learning, adaptability, and continuous improvement.

This leader will drive revenue growth, gross margin performance, inventory productivity, operational excellence, and workforce development while partnering closely with Service, Product Support Sales, Machine Sales, Rental, and Executive Leadership. The role requires a growth-minded leader who can develop leaders, challenge existing processes constructively, learn from setbacks, encourage innovation, and create an environment where teams are empowered to improve performance and deliver a best-in-class customer experience in alignment with Caterpillar and Cleveland Brothers standards.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Identify opportunities to expand market share, improve competitiveness, and enhance customer value
  • Provide leadership and direction to Regional Parts Operations Managers and parts leadership teams
  • Develop and coach parts leaders to think strategically, take ownership, learn from challenges, and continuously improve team performance
  • Ensure consistent execution of policies, procedures, and operational standards across all parts locations
  • Oversee inventory strategy for more than $100M in parts inventory, including availability, turns, obsolescence control, forecasting accuracy, and working capital discipline
  • Drive process standardization and continuous improvement across all branches
  • Promote a growth mindset across the Parts organization by encouraging problem solving, experimentation, feedback, and a willingness to challenge the status quo
  • Ensure alignment and effectiveness of systems, tools, and reporting structures
  • Use data, feedback, and lessons learned to identify gaps, improve execution, and build organizational capability for future growth
  • Drive profitability through revenue growth, gross margin management, cost control, operational efficiencies, pricing discipline, and inventory productivity
  • Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning
  • Collaborate with Service, Machine Sales, Rental, and Product Support Sales to deliver integrated customer solutions
  • Improve customer uptime and satisfaction through parts availability, fulfillment accuracy, service support, and consistent branch execution
  • Establish clear performance measures for the parts organization, including revenue growth, gross margin, fill rate, inventory turns, obsolescence, customer satisfaction, employee development, and branch operating consistency
  • Strengthen relationships with key customers, Caterpillar, and supplier partners


Additional Responsibilities:



  • Establish a consistent branch review rhythm across the parts network to assess execution, identify gaps, share best practices, and support continuous improvement
  • Ensure Parts Department systems, procedures, records, and reporting tools support scalable, data-driven execution across the organization
  • Anticipate future workload, technology, staffing, and process needs required to support long-term growth across the parts business
  • Maintain strong knowledge of products sold and serviced, Caterpillar programs, customer applications, and aftermarket support requirements


Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:



  • Ability to lead a large, multi-branch parts organization through clear operating rhythms, field engagement, and consistent leadership expectations
  • Must have sufficient interpersonal skills to work cooperatively and effectively motivate and evaluate employee performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by coaching others, seeking feedback, adapting to change, and turning challenges into improvement opportunities
  • Must have planning skills sufficient to forecast department requirements and effectively produce department standards.
  • Ability to create a learning-oriented leadership culture that encourages accountability, collaboration, innovation, and development of future leaders
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance customer service, parts availability, inventory investment, margin performance, and operational efficiency
  • Ability to learn and understand all aspects of parts operations and their impact on Company goals and initiatives.
  • Must be able to maintain and develop reporting systems to provide management with information


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in parts operations, supply chain, or dealership environments
  • Proven experience managing multi-location operations and leading leaders
  • Experience leading large-scale teams through multiple layers of leadership, preferably across 32 or more operating locations
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Experience managing significant inventory, working capital, or supply chain assets, preferably in a dealership, heavy equipment, industrial distribution, automotive, or aftermarket parts environment
  • Ability to influence and lead across multiple levels of the organization
  • Track record of developing leaders, building bench strength, and leading teams through change with resilience, curiosity, and continuous improvement discipline
