Purpose of the Role
As an HSE Technician II at Worley, you will play a vital role in supporting our commitment to delivering sustainable change and ensuring safe work environments across our projects. This position contributes directly to our purpose of delivering a more sustainable world by fostering a culture of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) responsibility. The HSE Technician II provides both field and administrative HSE support to project teams and leadership, working collaboratively to uphold Worley's standards and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a proactive safety culture by supporting and reinforcing safe work practices aligned with Worley's values and project goals.

  • Conduct safety onboarding for new personnel, clearly communicating expectations and fostering a positive introduction to our safety culture.

  • Perform regular field safety inspections, audits, and observations to ensure compliance with regulatory and company HSE standards.

  • Support incident and injury management by gathering information, completing reports, and assisting in root cause analysis.

  • Deliver coaching and field-based communication to support worker engagement, morale, and understanding of HSE practices.

  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HSE procedures and practices.

  • Collaborate with teams to ensure safety systems, tools, and documentation are accurately maintained and accessible.

  • Serve as a point of contact for safety-related concerns, offering guidance and acting as a liaison between field teams and leadership.

  • Participate in and occasionally lead project-level HSE initiatives, promoting shared learning and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications / Skillset

  • Completion of a technical school program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience in a health, safety, and environmental support role, preferably in energy, chemicals, or resources industries.

  • Sound judgment in selecting and applying safety practices that align with organizational goals and sustainability objectives.

  • Effective communicator, capable of preparing and delivering clear and persuasive reports, presentations, and safety messaging to diverse audiences.

  • Proven ability to build rapport and coach individuals at all levels in a respectful, supportive, and inclusive manner.

  • Intermediate understanding of HSE systems, tools, and processes, with the ability to adapt and recommend improvements based on field experience.

  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to detail, accuracy, and follow-through in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Demonstrated alignment with Worley's values of delivering sustainable change and acting as a straight-talking partner in safety transformation.

  • Willingness to travel and work in field-based environments as required by project needs.
