Responsibilities
Summary: The Senior Director, Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) conducts high level investigations for OPR and assists with vetting and assessing employee hotline complaints and referrals, management and coordination of OPR investigations across the department, and dissemination and tracking of complaints referred to the field for investigation. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Senior Director, Office of Professional Responsibility conducts OPR investigations regarding allegations of serious misconduct.
- Responsible for vetting employee hotline complaints/referrals, evaluating severity of the alleged conduct and assigning appropriate entity to investigate and/or address.
- The Senior Director, Office of Professional Responsibility oversees the administration of the OPR database system designed to capture and retain staff misconduct and case information to identify patterns of misconduct, fraud, or mismanagement.
- Pro-actively identifies areas for process improvement. Initiates and leads business process strategy.
- Serves as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that investigative reports are formatted, grammatically correct, and investigative approach is sound.
- Provides second-level reviews for select investigative cases.
- Analyzes and edits investigative reports of findings; briefs executive staff on the statistical data.
- Assists in developing and providing new reports of investigatory data for senior management
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, HR or related discipline. A graduate degree in a legal field or specific investigative training is preferred.
- Ten (10) years' experience in criminal justice, law, HR or law office management. Ten (10) years' experience in a related field may be substituted.
- Superior writing and editing skills with the ability to expedite finalization of written reports and as required, executive briefings. Experience with legal research preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of investigative procedures, employee rights and responsibilities, handling of evidence, questioning strategies, legal considerations and ethics.
- Superior communication skills with the ability to articulate investigative findings properly in written reports and executive briefings.
- Strong leadership skills with experience involving the management of professional staff.
- Experience with MS Office and Google software suite.
- Ability to travel.
