Level 3: Advanced Lead Technician (Technician III)

This level represents the highest degree of technical expertise, focusing on troubleshooting automation, control systems, and process optimization.

• Automation and PLC Expertise:




• Proficiency in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) operations troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley).
• Experience with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) operation and troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP,).




• Advanced Electrical and Controls:




• Assist Plant Engineer with implementation of electrical control panel upgrades and replacements.
• VFD and servo drive troubleshooting and replacement.
• Advanced troubleshooting of robotics and complex automated packaging systems.




• System Integration and Optimization:




• Ability to assist the PEM with integrating new machinery with existing production lines and control systems.
• Data analysis from control systems to identify and correct process bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
• Experience with process control loop tuning (PID controllers).
• Involvement in the commissioning of new equipment and control systems.




• Leadership and Training:




• Mentoring and training Level 1 and Level 2 technicians.
• Leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major equipment failures.
• Assist the Plant Engineer and work with contractors and vendors on specialized projects.
