Production Supervisor, Machining

The Production Supervisor, Machining is responsible for overseeing machining personnel, organizing and monitoring workflow, and supporting employees to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production operations.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, machining expertise, and a continuous improvement mindset to drive productivity, quality, and overall team performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily machining operations and production staff in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Communicate job expectations while planning, monitoring, and evaluating employee performance
  • Coach, counsel, and support employees while enforcing policies and procedures
  • Schedule and assign personnel to meet production goals and customer requirements
  • Monitor workflow, adjust schedules as needed, and resolve production issues efficiently
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and productivity throughout machining operations
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce scrap and rework
  • Analyze machining processes and recommend operational improvements and best practices
  • Lead troubleshooting and problem resolution efforts in high-pressure situations
  • Monitor production metrics and provide shift production updates and reporting
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on collaboration and customer service
  • Assist in developing departmental goals, policies, and operational objectives


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 3-5 years of experience in a machining leadership, supervisory, or similar manufacturing role
  • Strong knowledge of machining practices, production processes, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with process improvement and production planning
  • Ability to work effectively with employees across all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer service excellence
