Impact You'll Make:

Stout is seeking an experienced Associate to join our Investment Banking group, specifically within the Capital Markets team. Associates support the day-to-day execution of middle-market capital raising and special situation transactions.

This role offers exposure to high-profile, primarily non-investment grade transactions across multiple industries, with opportunities to strengthen credit, execution, and client-facing skills. The position will focus on capital raising and placement across the full capital structure, with an emphasis on secured and unsecured debt. Qualified candidates will have a successful private placement track record and the ability to explain both debt- and equity-oriented transactions.

Associates at Stout gain meaningful client exposure and continue to build technical skills while working closely with experienced Stout professionals.

What You'll Do:

Responsible for the coordination and production of various investment banking projects and tasks, including:

* Underwrite, structure, and place live transactions using strong credit expertise
* Lead credit analysis and due diligence
* Prepare and deliver presentation materials
* Work with practice leaders across the firm and sector leaders within investment banking to win and execute capital raising transactions
* Attend client meetings
* Play a leadership role across all aspects of the transaction process

What You Bring:

* 2 to 6 years of experience in leveraged finance, commercial or corporate credit, or another capital raising role

* Experience working across the credit lifecycle
* Prior leveraged finance or high yield experience preferred, but not required
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Math, Economics, or a related field
* Advanced proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, Word, and PowerPoint
* Beginner or intermediate knowledge of SAS, SQL, Python, R, or Tableau
* Strong communication skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
