Summary:

The NorDx Phlebotomy School is designed to provide students with the clinical knowledge and competency to become a highly skilled Phlebotomist and the opportunity to earnwhileyou learn!All students chosen for theSchoolarepaid,full time,benefitedemployees and will transfer to a permanent Medical Lab Assistant I position and receive a significant pay increaseupon successful completion of the course.

Once in your permanent position, you will have the opportunity to advance and grow through additionalcompany providedtraining. Advancement opportunitiesinclude- MedicalLab Assistant II, Mentor, Group Lead, Supervisor, Manager and Clinical Lab Training positions.

These six week courses are scheduled tostart August 24th, September 14thand October 5th.

  • Phlebotomy techniques and blood collection Customer service skills
  • Regulatory, ethical, and legal Issues
  • Standard precautions, infection control and workplace safety
  • Specimen processing
  • Order entry
  • Clinical rotation

The Student - Phlebotomy works under the guidance of assignedLaboratoryleadership and is taught how to perform proper specimencollections, handling and processing ofspecimensas well as training in our laboratory computer information systems. To successfully complete the program,Studentsmust be able to: Commit to working as a Phlebotomist for a NorDx lab immediately upon completion of the program for a period of at least 18 months.

  • Pass all aspects of the classroom training including: quizzes/tests, clinical practice hours, and otherhands onactivities.
  • Complete a minimum of 200 sticks byendof the training.
  • Followdirectionfrom thePre-AnalyticTrainers as well as mentors and be signed off by a supervisor or mentor as competent to perform Phlebotomy
  • Follow all departmental and organizational procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrate excellent service to our patients
  • Agree to commit to working as a Phlebotomist for a NorDx lab immediately upon completion of the program for a period of at least 18 months.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 while attending class, then $20.56 per hour once placed in a regular Phlebotomist position.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
