Schedule:Part time, 26 hours/week. Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday

About the Role

MaineHealth Specialty Care Procedures in Brunswick is seeking aPatient Service Specialistto join our team. This essential position ensures that patient scheduling and insurance prior authorization needs are met while supporting the broader administrative and patient service functions of the practice.

The position can also be a Patient Service Representative. We are willing to train the right candidate!

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage patient scheduling for appointments, procedures, and follow-up visits.
  • Process procedure appointments and ensure completeness for clinical review.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for patients-answering questions, assisting with forms, and providing outstanding customer service.
  • Maintain accuracy of patient records and documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support smooth, efficient operations.
  • Handle general front-desk duties including check-in, check-out, phone calls, and insurance verification.

Summary:

The Patient Service Specialist role ensures patient scheduling and referral needs are met while assisting in the general administrative and patient service needs of the practice.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Six months of medical office experience required.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proficient computer skills.

The pay range for this position is $20.27to $24.36 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
