DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on maintaining medium voltage systems and supporting the safe operation of electrical equipment throughout the hospital campus. As a Medium Voltage Electrician, you will perform the following duties:

  • System Maintenance: Inspect and service electrical equipment including transformers, switch gear, and distribution panels
  • Emergency Readiness: Conduct routine test runs and upkeep of emergency standby generators
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety standards and procedures while working with energized or high voltage systems
  • Technical Diagnostics: Interpret readings, troubleshoot issues, and apply corrective actions when needed
  • Electrical Repairs: Use proper tools, splice kits, and diagrams to repair or replace electrical components

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel: As needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Five years of journey-level experience in the electrical trade; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
