Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our Talent Management team as an HR Business Partner!

About the role

In this role, you will provide consult on HR solutions and serve as a strategic partner to an aligned area of business. You will participate in organizational design, drive performance optimization, and provide guidance on employee relations issues. You will represent all areas of HR and brings in other HR partners as needed to showcase the value of our Human Resources function at Symetra.

What you will do



  • Serve as the dedicated business partner aligned to an internal group on a wide range of talent management and organizational business challenges (i.e., performance optimization, organizational design, talent assessment, employee relations, change management, leadership coaching and/or people analytics).
  • Work closely with managers and employees to improve relationships, engagement, contribution, retention while mitigating risk.
  • An active member of the aligned business areas providing strategic consultation and tactical support.
  • Design and implement development and prioritization of Symetra HR initiatives by partnering with Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Operations, Total Rewards and DE&I.
  • Facilitate instructor-led training to leadership and employees as needed.

Compensation

Salary Range: $117,000 - $195,100 plus eligibility for annual bonus program

Who You Are



  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • 8+ years of cumulative HR experience including prior roles as an HR Business Partner, or HR Manager role required
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries a plus.
  • Experience supporting technical teams as an HR partner a plus
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP preferred
  • Solid understanding of core HR business practices
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Adept presentation skills
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Adaptable and flexible with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Solid team orientation with a customer service mentality
  • Comfort with AI tools and embracing their applicability at the enterprise level
  • Ability to travel periodically as needed
