SRNL's Materials Science and Disposition group is seeking a qualified Corrosion Scientist/Engineer to grow the laboratory's portfolio in the areas of materials sciences, materials corrosion, and materials performance evaluation in nuclear waste environments. Successful candidates would have a Ph.D. in a materials related field, demonstrated ability to perform independent research in materials corrosion and performance evaluation, ability to apply and interpret scientific data to solve problems, and years of lab experience achieved after Ph.D. completion. Field of Study/Capabilities include but not limited to chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science/engineering, physics and related science or engineering disciplines. In the role, the candidate will work on interdisciplinary teams to propose and define the scope of technical programs and develop effective and efficient solutions to challenging problems, including development of first-of-kind concepts for materials system solutions for:
