The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Stationary Engineer operates, repairs and maintains gas and oil-fired boilers and all associated equipment in the powerhouse in a technically accepted, safe and efficient manner.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School graduate or equivalent with on-the-job or formal training equivalent to a related program in an accredited vocational school,
  • 1-3 years direct work experience related to boilers and generating equipment,
  • A State of New Jersey Stationary Engineering Blue Seal licensure is required,
  • Must possess and maintain a valid NJ, State Drivers License

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • A State of New Jersey Stationary Engineering Blue Seal licensure is required,
  • Must possess and maintain a valid NJ, State Drivers License

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full-Time, Days

Essential Functions:

  • Adjusts proper feed-water levels, monitors fuel and air ratios for proper combustion.
  • Cleans fuel oil burners routinely or as necessary.
  • Inspects, adjusts and repairs equipment as needed and other equipment needed for main boiler room in a clean and safe condition at all times.
  • Lubricates equipment.
  • Maintains equipment and boiler room in a clean and safe condition at all times.
  • Operate and maintain water treatment program for feed and boiler water.
  • Operate and monitor BMS, fire alarm and medical gas systems
  • Operates and maintains one or more oil and gas fired boilers, fuel oil heaters, feed-water heaters, chillers.
  • Perform hands on mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all plant equipment, including pipe fitting,
  • Operates incinerator when need arises.
  • Performs all other duties as job assignment flexibility is prescribed.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on incinerator and incinerator accessories.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on laundry machines and equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on mail boiler room equipment, machinery and accessories.
  • Periodically records steam pressure, feed water, city water, fuel oil pressure and stack temperature recordings in log book.
  • Snow removal duties as conditions dictate.
  • Test boiler feed water.
