Your Job

As an Equipment Technician, you will play a key role in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment. You will help minimize downtime, execute preventive maintenance activities, and partner closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure equipment operates at optimal performance levels.

What You Will Do

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic control system issues to identify root causes and restore equipment functionality.
  • Repair or replace worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components, sensors, fixtures, assemblies, and other equipment parts.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime and support daily manufacturing objectives.
  • Assist with equipment setup, production line support, and changeover activities.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts usage, equipment issues, and corrective actions.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), ESD requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain tools, spare parts, maintenance supplies, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Communicate equipment status, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities with production, engineering, and leadership teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, quality, safety, and manufacturing efficiency.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical school training, associate degree, or related technical certification preferred.
  • Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing manufacturing, production, automation, SMT, or industrial equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, motors, sensors, pneumatics, and machine controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, maintenance procedures, equipment manuals, schematics, and safety requirements.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, meters, test equipment, and maintenance tracking systems.
  • Ability to prioritize work, troubleshoot problems effectively, and respond to urgent equipment issues.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience supporting SMT manufacturing equipment, including printers, pick-and-place machines, feeders, conveyors, reflow ovens, and inspection systems.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, predictive maintenance techniques, and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Experience working in a high-volume electronics, aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with operators, engineers, supervisors, and fellow technicians.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement equipment reliability and process improvement opportunities.
  • Willingness to learn new equipment technologies, manufacturing processes, and advanced troubleshooting methods.
