You are the linchpin between field talent, Syneos Health, and our customers.

Working directly with the Syneos Health National Project Director (NPD), the Sales Training Manager (STM) is responsible for the successful development, delivery and management of customized training programs for the client. The STM implements training objectives, expectations, program development and execution. The Trainer's primary objective is to ensure successful training and ongoing skill development of the sales representatives. The STM is primarily responsible for the successful development, delivery, execution, and management of all management training-related needs as well. The STM is expected to comprehend and communicate the disease state, marketplace, and product-specific clinical and operational information and materials. The STM must be a self-starter, intrapreneurial and have the ability to lead from training creation to execution. The STM must possess effective collaboration, communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.

Key Responsibilities

Training Strategy & Program Ownership

You will:

  • Work to plan and evaluate the effective implementation of all field training programs across all consumer teams to ensure execution and skill development.
  • Interface with field sales management and all internal support teams to drive client results and satisfaction.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining a workable Training Plan including the determination of the goals, strategies, and tactics to be implemented to achieve client satisfaction.
  • Ride in the field with representatives as required providing coaching on disease, product, and selling/communication skills. Write follow-up recap on field ride observations and coaching recommendations.
  • Support sales management teams by providing training materials, workshops and/or facilitation support at National, Sales, and POA meetings.
  • Integration of all processes and policies to ensure compliance between Syneos and client organization.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive annual training strategy, roadmap, and training plan aligned with client goals and business priorities.
  • Define training objectives, learning outcomes, delivery strategies, program sequencing, and reinforcement plans for onboarding, backfill curriculums.

Job Responsibilities (Duties may include, but are not limited to all of the following)

Collaborative Liaison Responsibilities

  • Work with Field Team, Sales Directors and NPD to provide training and coaching aligned to sales and leadership effectiveness goals, as well as any other topics.
  • Support the Sales Directors and NPD by helping to lead efforts aligned to onboarding, national sales meetings, POA meetings, manager meetings, and other training interventions.
  • When necessary, interface with client Sales Learning & Development, Leadership and Brand teams to help identify, build and deliver relevant training to the field teams.
  • Interface with legal, compliance and medical to ensure assessment and approval of all training-related content.
  • Ability to cross-functionally collaborate organizationally.

Project Management Responsibilities

  • Ability to proactively shape and create specific project/training plan.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete those projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to break down larger training plan, projects into training milestones and hold cross-functional team accountable to delivery of the plan.
  • Ability to measure nationally/regionally, project outcomes success, and insights to evolve training design, development, and/or delivery to continuously improve training effectiveness.

Design Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains internal training with support from the Syneos Health content developer.
  • Develops and maintains onboarding curriculum, leads onboarding training for new field team members.
  • Conducts initial and ongoing training needs analyses, incl. perspectives from industry best practices.
  • Creates and maintains an integrated, workable Training Plan to determine the goals, strategies, and tactics to be implemented to achieve client satisfaction, including marketplace training, product training and materials, sales skills training, leadership training and account management training.
  • Outlines training goals, outcomes and measures/KPIs for attainment of training goals and outcomes.
  • Leverages and select existing resources in different training departments to inform integrated training plan.
  • Develops training concepts and associated objectives, descriptions, and sequencing for all training efforts.
  • Works with field teams and Sales Directors to determine specific metrics and measurements to assess the success of training activities.

Development Responsibilities

  • Oversees content for all forms of training delivery & works in partnership with the Syneos Health content developer.
  • Nurtures the training concepts throughout their evolution to ensure alignment with the strategic intent of the overall brand and account strategy objectives.
  • Enables live training logistical and preparation support, including scheduling assistance, printing guides, and facilities requirements.
  • If needed, conduct leader or facilitator training for all developed content and provide support for delivery as requested.
  • Manages live training intellectual property and leverages existing assets appropriately to improve project efficiency.

Facilitation and Delivery Responsibilities

  • Facilitates live, virtual, and blended learning programs for sales representatives, managers, and other commercial personnel.
  • Leads workshops aligned to product training, disease state education, launch training,
  • Oversees effective implementation and delivery of all training programs, including new-hire, backfill training, upskill training, NSMs and POAs, and frequent virtual training.
  • Manages classroom environment in a manner that allows representatives to meet learning objectives and delivers engaging learning experiences that encourage participation, discussion, practice, and application.
  • Assists managers with coaching field teams during training classes and meetings.
  • Evaluates the competency levels of training class participants and provides timely evaluations and feedback.
  • Evaluates attainment of KPIs/measures related to training goals and outcomes.
  • Creates training sustainability plans with the content vendor developer.

Required Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required
  • 5+ years' experience in Commercial Biotech/Pharma
  • Minimum 2 years field training experience
  • Experience with creating training content and curriculum development
  • Experience with delivering and facilitating disease & product training
  • Product Launch experience required
  • Up to 40% Travel may be required for this position
  • Valid Driver's license

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Expertise in adult learning principles, facilitation and instructional design
  • Exceptional presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage timelines, meetings and multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience utilizing virtual platforms, including Microsoft Teams and Zoom
  • Understanding of healthcare compliance, privacy regulations, and industry standards
  • Must be able to perform all responsibilities of the position

The range for the annual base salary for this position is $125,000 to $143,000. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
