What to Expect
As a member of Tesla's Passive Safety Test team, you will focus onoccupantand pedestrian injury testing and analysis, active hood deployment calibration development, and general impact testing. You will also have opportunities to develop skills in adjacent passive safety test areas, including airbag deployments, structural loading, and dimensional measurement testing. Your work will directly support vehicle development, regulatory certification, and consumer protection test ratings. You will plan and execute test programs, analyze andmonitorsafety performance, and collaborate closely with design and CAE teams tooptimizesystem-level performance.
What You'll Do
- Plan and manage safety test programs supporting new vehicle development, global vehicle introductions, regional/supplier changes, regulatory certification, and consumer ratings - with a primary focus on occupant and pedestrian injury testing and active hood calibration development
- Communicate test results, research findings, and safety concerns to internal engineering teams to inform and drive product development decisions
- Develop, validate, and maintain procedural documentation; perform audits to ensure test execution procedures are followed consistently
- Support test fixture design in CATIA, ensuring fixtures meet testing requirements
- Execute hands-on testing as needed, including test setup, instrumentation, and teardown
- Spearhead lab improvement initiatives focused on execution efficiency, global testing consistency, and test quality
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in automotive passive safety testing or vehicle homologation
- Experience with data acquisition systems (DAS), instrumentation, and test data interpretation
- Familiarity with global homologation and consumer ratings protocols (e.g., FMVSS, ECE, China GB, US NCAP, IIHS, Euro NCAP, CNCAP, C-IASI)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical testing tasks
- Ability and willingness to travel (up to 10%)

Expected Compensation
$91,600 - $195,600/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
