Description Maine Medical Center (MMC), the state's largest tertiary care hospitalwith over 700 bedsand a key teaching affiliate of Tufts University School of Medicine, seeksa Director ofthe Advanced Heart Failure Section and Medical Director of the Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) Program. This position will oversee a comprehensive regional program offering advanced heart failure care, mechanical circulatory support (including temporary and durable VADs) and collaborative transplant services. In addition, the Director of Heart Failure will work closely with CV Critical Care and Cardiac Surgery Teams to co-lead the institution's cardiogenic shock and ECMO programs. MMC is recognized as aGold Level Center of Excellence by ELSOandrecently recertified by The Gold Seal of Approval from theJoint Commission as an Advanced Certification for Ventricular Assist Device in 2025. This position involves a direct teaching role within our Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship as well as mentoring medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Program (Tufts-Maine Track).
