Daikin Applied is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a top-tier leadership role responsible for the end-to-end delivery of large-scale, high-value strategic projects across multiple sites. This position focuses on complex capital investments exceeding $15M, including capacity expansions, new facility development, major infrastructure upgrades, and execution of strategic contracts.This role operates at the highest level within the project management structure, driving enterprise-wide initiatives that directly impact business growth, operational scalability, and long-term competitiveness.You will have the ability to make an impact and shape your career with a company that is passionate about growth. Location: Staunton, VA; hybrid, 4-days/week in-office

Your Responsibilities:

Strategic Project Leadership

  • Lead and deliver large-scale capital projects (>$15M), including:

  • Capacity expansion initiatives

  • Major infrastructure upgrades

  • Strategic contract execution and industrialization

  • Define project strategy, scope, timelines, and success criteria aligned with business objectives

  • Act as the primary owner from concept through execution and operational handover

Stakeholder & Executive Management

  • Serve as the main interface with senior leadership and executive stakeholders

  • Provide strategic updates, risk assessments, and decision-making recommendations

  • Align cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, and external partners

Financial & Risk Management

  • Own full project financials, including CAPEX planning, forecasting, and cost control

  • Ensure adherence to approved budgets, ROI targets, and financial governance

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across technical, financial, and operational dimensions

Contract & Vendor Management

  • Lead selection, negotiation, and management of contractors, EPC firms, and key suppliers

  • Ensure contractual compliance, performance, and delivery of project milestones

  • Manage complex commercial agreements tied to strategic initiatives

Governance & Execution Excellence

  • Establish and enforce project governance frameworks, standards, and reporting structures

  • Drive schedule adherence, quality standards, and safety compliance

  • Ensure proper documentation, change management, and project closure practices

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master's preferred)

  • 10-15+ years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on capital-intensive projects

  • Proven track record delivering projects exceeding $15M in value

  • Experience managing multi-site or geographically distributed projects

  • Ability to travel regularly (20-40%) across assigned project locations (2-3 sites)

  • Flexibility to be based at a primary site while supporting multi-location execution

  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen

  • Expertise in CAPEX project planning and execution

  • Advanced stakeholder management, including executive-level communication

  • Solid understanding of construction, industrial systems, and infrastructure projects

  • Financial management and cost control expertise

  • Risk management and problem-solving capability

  • Ability to operate at a senior leadership level with minimal supervision

  • Influence and alignment across diverse, cross-functional teams

  • High level of ownership, accountability, and execution discipline

  • Strong decision-making under uncertainty and complexity

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $100,800 to $171,700 +15%-20% bonus in Virginia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
