| Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a temporary part-time Academic Advisor for Undergraduate Education in the School of Engineering (SoE). This position reports to the Assistant Dean - Director of Advising to support the school's mission and the needs of our diverse student population.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides reliable and timely academic advising to undergraduates at the School of Engineering.
- Provides comprehensive academic support and retention services to students by making timely referrals to appropriate offices.
- Interacts professionally and compassionately with all undergraduate students, as well as their parents/guardians.
- Establishes effective working relationships with the SoE departments and other campus partners on issues pertaining to academic policies and student advising during their tenure.
- Works as an integral part of SoE Undergraduate Education.
- Participates in university-wide and school-wide duties and functions as assigned.
- Supports a collaborative, team focused, and positive work environment that is student-centered and passionate about student success.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in college-level academic advising, student services or a closely related field, preferably in a large university setting, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate records.
- Experience working with domestic and international students with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and multiculturalism.
- Excellent communication skills, and demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships in a team environment.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Knowledge of the engineering curricula and the academic degree requirements.
- Working knowledge of Rutgers system-wide student information and service delivery systems including IMS, Salesforce, Navigate 360, Degree Navigator, Canvas.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
