Director of Practice & Policy
CLIENT ASSOCIATION: American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, AAAAI
REPORTS TO: Executive Director DIRECT REPORTS: Three Program Managers STATUS: Exempt, Full-time (Minimum 37.5 hours/week) GENERAL SUMMARY Provides strategic leadership for the development and execution of advocacy and public policy initiatives that advance the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology's (AAAAI) strategic plan and organizational priorities. Partners with the Board of Directors and Advocacy Committee leadership to identify and implement effective strategies for achieving advocacy and policy objectives. Oversees the direction, management, and coordination of the staff team responsible for implementing these initiatives, ensuring alignment and efficient execution of priorities. Serves as a member of the senior leadership team, contributing to the overall management and success of the AAAAI. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED: Approximately 5-6 weeks per year; Attendance at the AAAAI Annual Meeting is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is a full-time position located in our office in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two-days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as a required all-staff in-office day) are a requirement of the role. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 5-7 years of association management, advocacy/public policy program development and supervisory experience; outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills; computer proficiency; Bachelor's degree. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Early morning, evening and weekend hours may be required to meet client needs. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimal lifting required.
