Job Summary/Primary Purpose: The Health and Fitness Coordinator is responsible for supporting the daily operations, organization, communication, and administrative systems of the Health and Fitness department. This position provides operational continuity when the Fitness manager is out. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have primary supervisory responsibilities but acts as an operational shift supervisor providing direction and communication to fitness staff during assigned shifts or when the Fitness Manager is absent. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of two years of experience in administration, fitness, recreation, scheduling, customer service, program support, or a related field in a fitness center or similar facility is preferred. Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must support the mission of the Salvation Army and represent the Kroc Center in a professional and positive manner. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Physical requirements include good speaking, hearing and vision. Excellent manual dexterity. Ability to stand, bend and reach for extended periods of time, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment. This position will require the ability to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds occasionally. Working Conditions: The majority of the workday will be in a mixed environment including offices, service counters, and other program spaces. In addition, portions of the primary work facility may be considered humid (outdoor fields areas) while other locations (gymnasium and fitness studios) may be considered moderately loud in nature. | |
