The Highlights:

The Sr. CMS Operations Specialist sits inside of the Brand Marketing Team serving as the university's senior technical content operations expert, leading enterprise website content management, Sitecore administration, workflow execution, and digital production across DePaul's public web ecosystem. This position combines advanced Sitecore expertise with project management and customer consulting to oversee content operations, prioritize and manage CMS requests, support enterprise web governance, and ensure timely execution of digital initiatives. Working closely with IS project managers & developers, UX designers, marketing and content creators and distributed web administrators, this role serves as the primary operational resource for Sitecore best practices, content architecture, CMS optimization, training and technical guidance while continuously improving workflows, production efficiency and user experience.

What You'll Do:



  • Lead CMS Operations & Workflow Management - Serve as the primary operational lead for the university's Sitecore CMS, managing intake, prioritization and execution of web requests through JIRA and other project management systems. Coordinate work across stakeholders, monitor production schedules, establish priorities, identify risks and ensure timely delivery of website enhancements, maintenance requests and enterprise initiatives. Continuously improve workflows and operational efficiencies that support the university's digital experience.
  • Sitecore Administration & Enterprise Website Management - Provide advanced technical expertise within the Sitecore CMS to support enterprise website management, migrations, page development and ongoing optimization. Configure, maintain and troubleshoot Sitecore content, templates and components while partnering closely with developers to test enhancements, validate releases and recommend improvements. Serve as the team's subject matter expert for Sitecore capabilities, best practices and governance.
  • Digital Content Strategy, Information Architecture & User Experience - Consult with colleges, departments and administrative units on content strategy, information architecture, SEO, accessibility and user experience best practices. Review and optimize website content to ensure alignment with university standards, brand guidelines and digital strategy while using analytics to recommend continuous improvements that enhance engagement and site performance.
  • Training, Governance & Continuous Improvement - Serve as a technical resource and mentor for CMS users and DXA team members by developing documentation, delivering training and promoting Sitecore and web governance best practices. Identify opportunities to improve content operations, streamline processes and increase organizational knowledge while supporting the ongoing growth and technical development of internal staff.


What You'll Need:



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Information Systems or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering and managing websites within a native Sitecore CMS environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise CMS operations and large-scale website initiatives.
  • Experience managing workflows through project management and ticketing systems such as JIRA.
  • Experience collaborating with developers, UX designers and cross-functional digital teams.
  • Experience with information architecture, SEO, accessibility and web governance.
  • Strong analytical skills using Google Analytics or comparable web analytics platforms.
  • Experience developing CMS documentation, training and best practices for distributed content authors and internal teams
  • Excellent project management, organizational and customer relationship management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Advanced expertise administering and managing enterprise websites within the Sitecore Content Management System (CMS).
  • Experience in website management, information architecture, digital communications, content strategy and web governance.
  • Strong understanding of CMS architecture, content lifecycle management and enterprise web best practices.
  • Experience using project management and ticketing platforms (e.g., JIRA) to manage work intake, prioritize requests and support Agile workflows.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot complex CMS and content issues.
  • Knowledge, skills, abilities extended:

    • Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data using web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to inform content optimization and user experience improvements.
    • Demonstrated ability to mentor colleagues and serve as a technical resource on Sitecore capabilities and CMS operations.
    • Proficiency with web authoring tools, content management systems and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop or equivalent).
    • Excellent written, verbal and editorial communication skills.



The anticipated hiring range for this position is: $74,367 to $110,000/year.

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
