| Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
North Carolina Cooperative Extension gives our residents easy access to the resources and expertise of NC State University and NC A&T State University. Through educational programs, publications, and events, Cooperative Extension field faculty deliver unbiased, research-based information to North Carolina citizens.
The

| Duties and Responsibilities |
Assist Horticulture and Agriculture Agents with programming, conduct school enrichment programs and provide technical support to manage public garden facilities. Assist agent in facilitating Master Gardener Volunteer program. |
| Other Work/Responsibilities |
Employee may be called upon in case of a disaster, either natural or man made, to serve the citizens of Onslow County. Service to the citizens during a disaster may result in the assignment of other duties which will take precedence over duties described in this job announcement. |

8:00AM - 5:00PM with flexibility and occasionally working after hours or weekends as necessary. |
| Minimum Experience/Education |
The minimum requirement for employment with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension (
NCCE) is a high-school diploma or equivalent. Advanced training in related fields is preferred. |
| Department Required Skills |
High school diploma with two years of specialized training and/or education
in environmental education, horticulture, or agriculture are desirable.
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job. |
| Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education |
Environmental education and/or horticulture/agriculture background.
Knowledgeable in creating documents with word processing and
spreadsheet programs, good organizational and people skills, and a
willingness to learn. Pond management, irrigation management, agriculture
and agriculture equipment experience is a plus. |

Applicant must have a valid North Carolina driver's license and comply with
Onslow County insurance regulations (applicants must not have more than 3
points over a 3-year period nor have any
DWI convictions, and a reliable
personal vehicle for travel. |
