University of Missouri Department of Intercollegiate Athletics Job Description
The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking a Director of Financial Performance and Analytics to serve as a strategic financial analyst and reporting leader for the athletics department, supporting data driven decision making through the development of financial reporting, business intelligence dashboards, and performance analytics. This position plays a critical role in budget planning, monitoring, and process improvement by transforming financial and operational data into meaningful insights for departmental leadership. This role will oversee the creation and maintenance of key financial reports, monitor transactional data quality, and identify trends that improve fiscal accountability and operational efficiency. The Director will continually evolve reporting processes while developing tools that enhance transparency and support long term strategic planning. Key Responsibilities 1. Lead the development, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the department's financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support strategic decision making and fiscal accountability. (30%) * Assist with the development, monitoring, and ongoing management of the department's annual operating budget and financial forecasting processes. 2. Develop and maintain executive-level financial dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and business intelligence tools that provide meaningful insights for departmental leadership. (25%) * Develop and maintain executive-level KPI reports and interactive dashboards that support strategic business operations and informed decision making. 3. Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance reporting capabilities, automate financial processes, and improve operational efficiency through business intelligence and technology solutions. (20%) * Partner with internal stakeholders to automate reporting processes and reduce manual workload through business intelligence tools, AI utilization, and other process improvements. 4. Analyze financial performance and develop reporting tools that support operational planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvement. (15%) * Develop and maintain event-specific Profit & Loss statements to evaluate financial performance and inform future operational decisions. 5. Provide ongoing financial analysis, special project support, and leadership in advancing the department's reporting and analytics capabilities. (10%) * Support special projects, financial modeling, and executive presentations as assigned. Shift
Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field. * Experience in higher education or collegiate athletics business operations. * Experience with ERP or financial management systems. * Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning methodologies. * Experience creating executive dashboards and performance metrics. * Experience integrating AI into daily productivity and business workflows Anticipated Hiring Range
