Job Summary

The Human Resources Assistant I provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, and general HR processes. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees, ensuring HR activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and confidentially while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment activities, including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications.
  • Support the onboarding process by preparing new hire documentation, conducting orientation sessions, and ensuring completion of required employment forms.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Assist with the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefit programs.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and general employment matters.
  • Coordinate employee training and development activities, including scheduling sessions and tracking participation.
  • Prepare reports, maintain HR documentation, and perform data entry with a high level of accuracy.
  • Assist with filing, record retention, and other general administrative duties within the HR department.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
  • Support additional HR projects and departmental initiatives as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • 1-3 years of experience in human resources, human resources administration, or an administrative support role.
  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with HRIS systems or other human resources management software preferred.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruiting tools preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Professional Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM-CP certification preferred.


Education



  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
