MTSI is currently seeking a Senior Benefits & Compensation Manager who will lead our benefits and compensation programs; overseeing the administration of the company's self-insured benefit plans and compensation programs.This role ensures that offerings are competitive, equitable, and aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. The Senior Manager works closely with HR teams, senior management, and external vendors to design and implement effective programs.

Role and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of self-insured benefit plans, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Lead and manage a team of benefits and compensation specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Develop and execute strategies to ensure competitive and cost-effective benefits and compensation programs that attract and retain top talent aligned with MTSI core values.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align benefits and compensation programs with organizational goals and employee needs.
  • Monitor industry trends and conduct benchmarking analyses to ensure programs remain competitive and aligned with market standards in the Government contracting professional services space.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements are met.
  • Oversee annual benefits enrollment processes, ensuring clear communication and a seamless experience for employees.
  • Oversee, manage and facilitate semi-annual staff bonus and market review process.
  • Analyze and report on program effectiveness, utilization, and costs, providing recommendations for improvements; partner with team to include predictive analytics, dashboards and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits and compensation.
  • In coordination with benefit broker, prepare and submit all required reports and disclosures to employees, Federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
  • Manage leave programs including but not limited to FMLA, STD, LTD, military leave, and jury duty.
  • Oversee COBRA program and administration.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for employees and leadership on benefits and compensation matters.
  • Stay updated on Federal, state, and local laws related to benefits and compensation, industry trends and best practices.
Required Skills:
  • Leadership and Team Management: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR professionals.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to evaluate data, identify trends, and make informed decisions regarding benefits and compensation programs.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex information to employees, leadership, and external vendors.
  • Negotiation and Vendor Management: Expertise in managing vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and performance monitoring.
  • Knowledge of Self-Insured Plans: In-depth understanding of self-insured benefit plans, including compliance requirements and cost management strategies.
  • Project Management: Ability to plan, execute, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges in benefits administration and compensation planning.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in managing sensitive employee data and program details.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with HRIS systems (prefer SAP), benefits administration platforms, and data analysis tools.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to build strong relationships with employees, leadership, and external partners, fostering trust and collaboration.
  • Servant Leadership:Understands and applies principles of servant leadership including humility, empathy and compassion.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree or HR certification preferred).
  • Strong preference for professional certification in Benefits and Compensation (World at Work, CEBS, or SHRM).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in benefits and compensation management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of self-insured benefit plans, compensation structures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and benefits administration platforms.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent sitting for long periods using computer keyboard, teams conferencing, Microsoft teams, phone calls etc.
  • Regular standing and walking to file documents, make copies, meet with leaders / employees in other parts of the building etc.
  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Some work (less than 5%) may require moving and lifting of heavy objects.
Please Note:U.S. Citizenship is required.
The pay range for this position is $155,00/year to $185,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, jobrelated knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. This posting will be renewed periodically until the position is filled.
