As a Talent & Organizational Strategy (T&OS) Analytics Consultant, you'll help turn data into meaningful insights that shape how Southwest attracts, develops, and supports its People. Partnering with stakeholders across the Company, you'll lead analytics projects from intake through delivery, combining data from multiple sources to answer complex business questions and inform talent and organizational decisions. You'll uncover trends, identify opportunities, and develop forecasting models and scalable solutions that support workforce planning and organizational strategy. Using modern analytics tools, AI-enabled capabilities, and compelling data storytelling, you'll transform information into clear, actionable recommendations for leaders. Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of moderately complex analytics work, from intake through analysis, visualization, and final insights delivery
- Lead and facilitate intakes for defined requests, understanding business needs and recommending the right solution based on appropriate analytical methodologies
- Prepare, transform, and integrate data across systems (e.g., Workday, Phenom) to support reliable analysis and reporting
- Analyze and connect complex data sets to proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities across talent and organizational strategies
- Develop and enhance forecasting models and analytical approaches to support workforce planning
- Build and maintain scalable, repeatable analytical solutions that deliver accurate, consistent insights for defined business needs
- Actively leverage modern tools and AI-enabled approaches to improve efficiency, enhance visualizations, and automate workflows
- Create actionable insights grounded in business and organizational context, using data storytelling to clearly communicate what is happening, why it is happening, and what it means for the business
- Develop and present executive-ready visualizations and insights to senior Leaders, clearly communicating findings to drive understanding and alignment
- Contribute to and uphold data governance standards, including metric definitions, data quality, and consistency across solutions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of people analytics and how talent and workforce data impact business outcomes
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive analytics, and trend analysis methodologies
- Knowledge of AI-enabled analytics tools, automation technologies, and emerging analytical capabilities
- Skill in strategic problem-solving, critical thinking, and business analysis to support organizational decision-making
- Skill in consulting, influencing, and building trusted partnerships with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders
- Skill in prioritizing multiple initiatives while managing competing business demands in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights and communicate findings effectively
- Ability to operate with organizational, industry, and market awareness to ensure insights are relevant and actionable
- Ability to operate in an agile, demand-driven environment, adapting priorities to evolving business needs
- Ability to assess data quality, interpret ambiguity, and exercise sound judgment when developing recommendations
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- Leveraging modern analytics tools and AI-enabled approaches
- People analytics, data analytics, or related fields
- Workday
- Data engineering concepts, including data preparation, transformation, and integration (e.g., Alteryx, SQL)
- Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
- Preferred: Project management experience
- Preferred: Phenom experience
- Preferred: PowerPoint storytelling and presentation development experience
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Competitive market salary from $103,750 - $115,300 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
