Conduct internal investigations into allegations of ethics, compliance, fraud, conflict of interest, workplace misconduct, and other regulatory or policy-related matters. Support the ongoing development, enhancement, and administration of Enbridge's Compliance Investigation Program through innovative and strategic solutions. Develop and implement proactive monitoring initiatives in key risk areas to identify potential misconduct and emerging compliance concerns. Leverage investigative technologies, data analytics, and trend analysis to improve investigative effectiveness, consistency, and operational efficiency. Maintain compliance records in accordance with confidentiality requirements, attorney-client privilege standards, and records management policies. Advise on, implement, and continuously assess protocols and technologies to ensure effective, efficient, and consistent investigative processes. Provide compliance-related advice, guidance, and training to business units and employees on topics including ethics, regulatory compliance, fraud prevention, respectful workplace conduct, and the Statement on Business Conduct. Keep abreast of changes in applicable rules, regulations, standards and related trends that are relevant to Enbridge operations and the Ethics and Compliance Program and to make necessary modifications to policies and procedures. Partner closely with Internal Audit, Human Resources, Legal, Safety, and business leaders to identify, mitigate, and address enterprise risks while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. Subject Matter Expertise/Familiarity in Investigations and Employment Law is required. Procedure and process development, Fraud detection, Conflicts of Interest is preferred.
Who You Are:
Law degree, membership in a law society/bar association and 4 - 7 years of relevant legal experience in private practice or an in-house legal department. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. A collaborative and pragmatic problem-solver with excellent analytical, and legal reasoning skills. Able to manage competing priorities independently while delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. An effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills and the ability to influence diverse stakeholders. Demonstrate sound judgment, integrity, and ethical decision-making in all aspects of work. Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of building strong relationships across a dynamic enterprise.
Working Conditions:
Primarily office-based role with occasional travel to Enbridge locations or third-party sites, including potential international travel. Fast-paced, high-volume environment requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Significant autonomy in managing day-to-day responsibilities, with flexibility to work additional hours as needed to support business requirements.
Salary Ranges from $130,000 - $175,000 USD for US locations based upon candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity. Salary Ranges from $130,000 - $175,000 CAD for Ontario locations based upon candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity. Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates. Physical Requirements include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time. Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
