POSITION SPECIFICS

The Center for Cannabinoids and Natural Product Pharmaceutics (CCNPP) and the Department of Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics (NET) are seeking to hire a Lab Coordinator Supervisor to assist with laboratory administrative and research projects. This position will be primarily responsible for coordinating laboratory and safety operations within NET and CCNPP. This includes but not limited to serving as the department's laboratory safety officer, assisting department labs to ensure that they are maintained and operated in compliance with safety regulations and environmental health requirements. Inventory, operations, and vendor management, overseeing labs to ensure that the faculty and staff have the necessary equipment and an effective and safe work environments, operations of the supercritical CO2 extractor for preparing botanical extracts, assist with the preparations of DOMA, MJ FREEWAY, IRB, IND, and IACUC protocols, and assistance with data management.

For NET: Duties include but not limited to maintaining department administration of laboratory equipment, assisting with the annual indirect cost recovery survey and walkthrough; submitting equipment work orders; inventory maintenance, repair and storage, and helping with equipment budget management, assisting with autoclaving, managing biohazardous waste disposal, managing chemical disposal, and miscellaneous administrative work.

For CCNPP: Supervise and instruct part-time and/or student works This position will also engage in basic science research around cannabis and other natural products, such as supercritical CO2 extraction of plant material, cell culture experiments to assess receptor profiling of molecules/extracts and assisting with animal studies around diseases which might be improved by natural products (such as pain, inflammatory bowel disease, and neurodegeneration). Assist with preparation of grants, annual reports, and manuscripts; assistance with clinical trial organization and survey collection/data analysis; ensure compliance with government agencies; coordination with research sponsors; and organizing retreats, meetings, and workshops. Also, maintain CCNPP website.

Experience or knowledge of supercritical CO2 extraction, basic science lab experience (both cell culture and animal work), organizational management, and good organizational skills are preferred. Certificates in DOMA and MJ Freeway a plus.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $54,060.00 - $78,444.00.
