DESCRIPTION

This position will be an instructor, within a highly collaborative team, for UC San Diego Health staff in basic and advanced resuscitation training (BART and ART). The RN educator will work with resuscitation program staff to ensure training needs of team members at all UCSDH hospital campuses and clinics are met and competency of staff is evaluated. Training will be comprised of didactic and simulation-based instruction. Education and training will include provision of care within the academic and community model of care.

They will also utilize clinical experience to enhance training. The educator will possess knowledge of the UC Learning Center to manage registration, attendance, and resolve issues for learners. They will participate in inter-professional review of code blue and rapid response events, utilize trends and data to update curriculum and processes to improve patient outcomes. The educator will routinely collaborate with Code Blue Committee, resuscitation program staff, and leadership on process issues and quality improvement initiatives. Will work varied hours and locations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).

  • RN license issued by the State of California.

  • BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get BART and ART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Five (5+) or more years relevant experience.

  • Two (2) years of BART or BLS instructor experience and/or Two (2) years of ART or ACLS instructor experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of science and data supporting ART/BART program.

  • Simulation training experience.

  • Curriculum development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Master's Degree or higher.
  • Quality improvement project/evidence-based practice change project implementation experience with documented outcomes.
  • Lean training.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $132,600 - $259,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $63.51 - $124.43

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
