Job Title:Lowboy Coordinator
Department:Shop
Reports to: Shop Foreman
Major Role and Purpose:

  • Coordinate the heavy-haul logistics for Lowboy Drivers to ensure necessary equipment is delivered to each job site and facility in a timely manner.
Description of Duties:
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Provide oversight to ensure all necessary equipment arrives at each job site and facility in a timely manner.
  • Manage driver schedules, track trucks, and ensure deliveries arrive on time to keep projects and operations moving.
  • Receive and maintain communications with managers and supervisors regarding job status, problems, customer satisfaction, etc.
  • Assign drivers to trucks and provide accurate directions to pick up and deliver to jobsites and facilities.
  • Maintain all necessary permits required for proper load weights, blanket and superload permits, special route deliveries and bridge crossings, and coordinate with state law enforcement when required.
  • Ensure all truck and trailer combinations are equipped with the proper tiedowns, safety equipment, logbooks, and all other tools necessary.
  • Maintain a control board and travel logs.
  • Answer phonesin a professional manner.
  • Work with the Human Resources department to maintain accurate FMCA records for the individual drivers.
  • Track daily activities of trucks and generate operational reports.
  • Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned by supervisor.
Education:
  • High School Diploma
Work Experience/Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience.
  • Must have general knowledge of highway systems in the regions worked.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure.
  • Experienced with GPS technology and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
