The Opportunity: Hitachi Energy in Alamo is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance activities that support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. You will lead a skilled team, coordinate plant maintenance priorities, and improve equipment performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. How you'll make an impact:
Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians while setting clear expectations and building a strong safety-first team culture. Coordinate daily maintenance activities and assign work based on production priorities, equipment conditions, and available resources. Plan and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support production goals. Partner with operations, engineering, quality, and EHS teams to resolve equipment issues, improve processes, and maintain a safe, compliant work environment. Use SAP or other CMMS tools to manage work orders, maintenance schedules, backlog, labor planning, and asset history. Monitor maintenance KPIs, analyze recurring equipment failures, and drive continuous improvement through sustainable corrective actions. Support spare parts planning, contractor coordination, and maintenance resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of work. Participate in capital expenditure budgeting, expense planning, labor planning, and scheduling, while ensuring effective management of critical spare parts, tools, and consumable resources needed to support production equipment operations. Ensure compliance with applicable internal procedures, external regulations, and site standards across all maintenance operations.
Your Background:
Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of planning and/or maintenance supervisor experience, OR associate degree plus 4 years, OR high school diploma/GED plus 6 years. Supervisory or team leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience planning maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, labor allocation, and parts management. Working knowledge of CMMS tools such as SAP, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement methods. Strong communication skills and the ability to lead teams in support of safety, quality, and operational goals.
