Position Summary

This lead will be the involved in making sure assembly is running well. They also will perform all duties necessary to the efficient operation of all equipment in the plant, and they will operate and maintain plant equipment in accordance with standard work and building procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assign, monitor, delegate assignments and react to activities throughout the value stream supporting job rotations

  • Must assure that Team Improvement boards, Day by Hour boards, etc. are completely filled out on an hourly/daily basis

  • Ensure productivity by fielding questions, ensuring operators are on track and understand work assignments

  • Serve as liaison between the VS Team Leader and Leadership regarding work assignments and projects

  • Must regularly lead Kaizen or other problem-solving events

  • Be an active participant in the layered audit process conducting daily audits

  • Assure all team members are performing and documenting quality checks based on department procedures

  • Capable of delegating work assignments, maintaining kiosk boards, report out on activities within the value stream

  • Capable and willing to perform jobs within the VS in order to fill in for operators during meetings or to cover absences

  • Capable of cross training within multiple areas creating flexibility and understanding

  • Accountable to VS metrics such as; Safety, Quality, LISC, Scrap, and Units per Labor Hour

  • Responsible for Training including working with team members to develop and maintaining their Skills Matrix

  • Facilitate weekly team meetings, lead Safety Toolbox talks

  • Other duties may be assigned at a later time

  • Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.

  • Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED, additional preferred
  • Previous manufacturing assembly experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Be able to speak and share information in a group setting

  • Sound decision making skills

  • Good math, reading and writing skills

  • Be able to exercise continuous mental, visual and audio attention

  • Have strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills (CAR/PAR/8D)
